Instagram has definitely influenced a lot of social media users through photographs. It’s a game-changer for amateur and professional photographers. Some have even made a living out of traveling and taking beautiful photos while others have made it their professional portfolio.

With the millions of users sharing their photos, it is a challenge to stand out. Let me share to you 10 accounts that I follow because of their creativity and excellence in their craft.

1. 13thwitness

I consider his photos like a showcase in a photo exhibit and hanging in a gallery. It’s an example of art in photography at its best where he brings art with spectacular cityscapes.

3. Sam Horine

Sam is one of the many shutterbugs slinging a dslr out of his holster for a living. He does a lot of instagram meetups and photowalks creating art with his camera as he weaves his way around the city.

4. Scott Rankin

His photos are so good they make you want to go on a trip. What I love most are the interesting subjects that makes a great foreground of the landscapes. He’s not even a professional shooter and is currently in school.

5. Pei Ketron

Pei loves to share objects and structures with symmetry, lines and patterns. She manages to find the most interesting scenes out of the geometrical intricacies of a place or scene.

6. Theron Humphrey

An inspirational guy who travels along with a dog he picked up which has become a bit of an instagram superstar. Amazingly, it has become the subject of his works which is a well behaved model dog.

7. Joann Pai

This photographer and stylist captures the best and tastiest of a food scene. See food porn done right with her photos.

8. Humans of New York

I love this series of photographs of random people of New York and their unique stories. I am inspired to start one soon if I have the guts.

HONY Stories comes out in less than one week! I’ve already said a lot about the merits of the book. So I want to take a quick opportunity to remind everyone that HONY is advertisement free and almost entirely financed by book sales. (The only exception being income from a handful of speeches I give every year.) Proceeds from books have been used to pay for trips to twenty different countries over the past year alone. Even when working with large organizations like the United Nations or UNHCR, I’m always very careful to cover all costs and reimburse any expenses. I do this so that the content on HONY can remain entirely independent, self-directed, and transparent. By purchasing a book, you can help HONY continue to grow in a way that remains focused on telling people’s stories— and nothing else. Thanks to everyone for your continued support. HONY: Stories can be preordered now for 40% off. LINK IN BIO.

10. J. N. Silva

His use of strong contrast and colors really makes his photos stand out. His photographs on the streets and people really strikes a story to the viewers.

So there you go, 10 people that I suggest you follow though there are literally thousands of great photographers out there. I have still a long way to go and I hope I get more inspired to enhance this craft. And lastly, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram as well @ohemjae and as always, spread good vibes! 🙂
