First of all, I am proud to be part of the Cebu Blogging Community. And second, it’s just getting better. Last July 4, CBC celebrated its first anniversary and threw a remarkable black party at F Cafe and Bar at The Gallery in Mabolo. It was well attended by the members of the community that were really cool and fun bloggers.

So what is CBC?

Cebu Blogging Community (CBC) is a community-driven group formed to unite bloggers in Cebu under a collective purpose. CBC aims to establish camaraderie among bloggers, improve blogging skills of members and provide support to bloggers aspiring to reach the top of their respective niches. The community embraces social responsibility by providing great content that promotes social awareness.

Initially known as “Bloggers for a Cause,” CBC has grown to become a diverse and dynamic group and home to some of the most empowering bloggers in the country.

Personally, I can attest to the above statements about CBC. If you have read my 1st anniversary post last February, you’ll know that I am still a new kid in the blogosphere. When I started to blog I had the goal but the problem is I did not have direction.

Thankfully, I got to meet some of the the leads of this community during an event  last year. Back then, CBC was still on its “embryonic” stage and I have witnessed how it developed as a group and into a family. At the same time, they have empowered me to pursue blogging, blog for a cause  and connect to my fellow bloggers.

I would like to congratulate the CBC for the anniversary event. It would have not been possible without the dedication from the community leads (Mary, Gay, Channel, Jeph and Jhanis). They have exerted effort to look for sponsors for this so a big thanks also to the major and minor sponsors for their generosity.

There were representatives from some of the sponsors who graced the event and gave a quick overview on their product. They also gave away items and prizes for the contests. The night was filled with fun, games, party and getting-to-know-your-fellow-bloggers.

It was a night to remember and will probably build our character as bloggers. Now that CBC has started to establish as a premier blogging community, there will be more events and opportunities to look forward to. For me, it was a great venue to connect to the persons behind the blogs you know and get to chat with them outside the virtual world.

Cheers to the Cebu Blogging Community and the people behind. Now that you’ve turned 1, may you continue to be an inspiration to new and old bloggers. Wishing you more anniversaries to come and good vibes to share! 😀
